Customs Summer 2011

May 20th, 2011 by Andrew Eidson

Hello, fellow anime enthusiasts! It’s almost the Summer season and you know what that means, right? It’s time for Customs!

Ever Summer, incoming students must go through an orientation that MTSU calls “customs” for whatever reason. In bottom floor of the KUC, a myriad of student organizations are represented at different tables. MTSU Anime Club has attended every year since its inception, and this year will be no different.

We always ask for volunteers to come hang out at our booth and make MTSU Anime Club seem like the best damn club on campus (because it is, really). If you want to bring snacks, cosplay, music, or just hang out at our table that’s cool. Anime trinkets or DVD cases are cool too.

Hopefully, if all goes well we will convince a legion of freshmen to join our cause and start attending meetings. If anything, I’m sure we could convince to go to our free anime convention: Adacon

I’ll be attending almost every session except for June 11 due to Bonnaroo. If you have any questions, or would like to RSVP a date please do so on the customs thread we got going on at our MTSU Anime Club facebook group

Setup starts at 9:30 am. Customs itself starts at 10am with waves of students coming at irregular intervals until noon.

Be there or be square. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.

Take a look at our constitution to get a feel for what each position is expected to do. Look deep down in your heart, and nominate someone you feel can the greatest job in the world.

PokéParty @ MTSU Quad April 6

March 27th, 2011 by Andrew Eidson

Pokémon Black and White just came out, and I bet you’re all dying to battle fellow trainers from all over campus!

I noticed that there are a TON of people at MTSU that play Pokémon, but they don’t all know each other. What better way to form a Pokénetwork that through an event?

So here’s the plan. At around 11 a.m. whomever is interested will meet up in the middle of the quad. You can battle or trade, or whatever. You don’t have to stay in the middle, but be in a big enough group so that stranglers can see a big group of people playing their DS systems in the quad. Continue Reading…
